Western Art and Culture After 1400

Course Description: Survey of the visual arts of the European, American and African civilizations from the late Gothic period to the present. Emphasis is on the formal, stylistic, technical and contextual developments in painting, sculpture, architectural, functional, and performing arts with reference to the cultural, social, religious, political and historical factors for which these works were produced.
