HS 251 Art Criticism: Visual

Course Description: A historical survey of twentieth century criticism in both Europe and the Americas. By using the historical texts,\ students are encouraged to develop their own critical aesthetic. The city of Seattle will serve as a laboratory for students to refine and articulate critical essays on the varied exhibitions in the community.


Course Requirements:1).Fourteen critical essays profiling a current exhibit in Seattle [80%] 2).Class Participation [10%] 3).Class\Attendance [10%]
